ISMCR 2025

ISMCR2025

The 26th International Symposium on Measurement and Control in Robotics (ISMCR), was held in Sambreville, Belgium, on October 7–8, 2025.

The symposium covered topics in the broad range of topics related to robotics and human robot systems, such as robot design innovations, sensors/smart sensors their integration/fusion, advanced controls and actuators, methods of AI in robotics, humanoid, climbing/walking, and autonomous robots; anthropomorphic robots, augmented/mixed/virtual reality (VR), intelligent CAD and IMS, visual/auditory/tactile/force displays, tools and techniques for modelling VR systems, software architectures for VR, VR interaction and navigation techniques, distributed VR Systems, motion tracking, VR input and output devices, human factors in VR. The proceedings extend this platform to all researchers, scientists, industry experts, and students interested in these fields.

The first KN speaker (Professor T. Verstraeten from the Free University Brussels) underlined the increasing importance of Robotics systems in assistance to aged people while the second KN speaker (Dr I.Galatas from EMEA Greece) described the improved Robotics systems in CBRNE contexts (rescue, medicine, assistance to first interveners by crisis, and so on)

Obviously, our symposium also focused on the artificial intelligence and the virtual reality, both themes introduced by Professor Simone Keller from Brazil and achieved by 5 authors from UK, USA, Hungary, Slovakia, Australia, Romania.

More specific were the application of robotics systems in risky environments such as spatial innovations (future moon exploration) , humanitarian demining, military needs in an evolving geostrategy, etc.

We hope that ISMCR2026 will be hold in Rio De Janeiro and get together experts from our TC17 community. Some selected papers may be consulted on the SPRINGER issue prepared by our colleague Professor Ioan Doroftei.
